This reminds me of this time when I was 18 (my year of late-blooming teenage rebellion) and me and some friends climbed up on the roof of a mall, the name of which escapes me at the moment, in Victoria. Our plan was to write a message in shaving cream on the huge pyramid-shaped skylight that was the central feature of said mall. True rebels-without-causes that we were we had no particular message in mind before scaling the building. We held a hurried meeting of the minds next to the skylight and my suggestion won out. I was super into Guns ‘N’ Roses at the time (of course) and in particular I loved this one hilarious song off of Use Your Illusion where Axl calls out the haters in a spoken word interlude the last two lines of which are: “Get in the ring motherfucker and I’ll kick your bitchy little ass, punk.” Inspiring stuff! Anyways, long story short we ran out of shaving cream after “Get in the ring mother” which was fitting seeing as the next day was … Mother’s Day! Take that, Mom.
